Meet Pakenham’s answer to the ‘Karate Kid’!
At the ripe old age of 8, Pakenham PS student, Joe Lim, already holds a purple belt in karate. That means he’s halfway to his black belt! With some financial assistance from Kids In Sport Inc., Joe and his parents will be travelling to Adelaide during the upcoming Christmas holidays to compete in the Australian Junior Karate Championships. Go get ‘em, Joe!
Chloe is setting new track records in girl’s BMX racing!
Chloe Winters loves to race around the BMX track. However, an accident and broken foot earlier in the year forced her take a break. While she was on the mend, her parents approached Kids In Sport Inc. to see if we could replace the bike that also came off second best in the accident. And with the help of the team at Berwick Cycles, we did just that!
Amazing Grace!
While 11-year-old Grace Turnbull has only been playing soccer for two years, she was one of the top goal scorers for her team at Officer City Soccer Club. Inspired to play after watching Matilda’s star, Sam Kerr, on TV, Grace had her eye on a new pair of Puma soccer books. And as Puma is one of our major partners, they were happy to deliver the boots to Grace this week!
